Our Shiraz (with a splash of Viognier) is a wine that continues to demonstrate the affinity of the variety with the Yarra Valley. We have three different Shiraz clones in the vineyard, PT23, 1654 and ‘100 year old’ clones, each with a unique flavour profile and ripening pattern.

Tasting Notes
Notes on release in 2017.
On the nose it’s pure & pretty, laden with aromas of blueberry, cherry, white pepper and Moroccan spice. The palate is all supple spice and savoury generosity to start with; then the mid-palate builds – serious, but in perfect proportion. A wine of real presence and a fitting testament to both site and vintage.
Winemaking Notes
The grapes were handpicked and sorted. Some were fully destemmed and crushed before fermentation, and others were left as whole berries, and about 10% was included as whole bunches at the bottom of the fermenting tanks. Total skin contact time ranged from 8-21 days.
The wine was matured in barrel (25% new) for 19 months with several rackings to gradually clarify and remove sediment. It had a light egg fining before bottling in October 2016.
